У статті розкрито суть публічно-приватного партнерства як економічної категорії, а також окреслено специфіку його йменування у вітчизняній та зарубіжній літературі. Проведено історичний огляд функціонування публічно-приватного партнерства у сфері вищої освіти виходячи з удосконалення нормативно-правового забезпечення галузі. Розкрито особ-ливості втілення у життя проєктів публічно-приватного партнерства державними закладами вищої освіти. Охаракте-ризовано форми публічно-приватного партнерства та його перспективи у вищій освіті України.
