Peculiarities of planning of foreign economic activity of the enterprise

Introduction. Nowadays, the active development of market relations presupposes a responsible approach to the planning of foreign economic activity. After all, properly planned import and export activities are the key to improving the efficiency and increase the company's profits. Thus, when planning foreign economic activity, a step-by-step plan should be followed, which will eventually help to develop the company's strategy in this area. The purpose of the paper is the systematization of the process of planning foreign economic activity in the form of phased strategy development. Results. The first stage of planning is to determine the prerequisites for strategy development. The second stage is the analysis of factors influencing foreign economic activity. There are a number of factors that have a significant impact on foreign trade, these include: insufficient resource opportunities, changing the impact of time and space, improving business infrastructure, high levels of economic aggression by Western firms, technological backwardness, economic prohibitions and restrictions other countries, military conflicts, etc. The third stage is the analysis of state regulation of foreign economic activity. This stage is based on the study of the regulatory framework for the functioning of foreign economic activity. The fourth stage is to study the company's own capabilities. Thus, having insufficient capacity, the company, for example, will not be able to organize import activities. The fifth stage is the formation of strategic alternatives. There are a number of basic strategies used by enterprises to optimize and plan foreign economic activity. Typical basic strategies include survival strategy; stabilization strategy; growth strategy; combined strategy. The next step is to implement the strategy. It is possible only if the correspondences between the chosen strategy and the state of the enterprise are established, all prospects, risks, the state of the internal and external environment of the enterprise are analyzed. The last stage - the creation of control bodies will help the company to respond quickly to changes and make early adjustments to the strategy. Conclusions. In the work on the basis of the conducted research the theoretical substantiation on development of strategy of planning of foreign economic activity is executed. The planning process is the foundation for the development of both the enterprise as a whole and in the field of foreign economic activity. The prospect of further research is to develop stages of implementation of methods and tools to improve foreign trade planning.
