Інженерно-транспортні експертизи на місці вчинення ДТП як явище та міжнародні стандарти їх здійснення рідко стають предметом наукових досліджень. Для ґрунтовного аналізу сутності та сучасних можливостей цих експертиз необхідно розглянути міжнародні стандарти здійснення судових експертиз та норми чинного національного законодавства з їхнього регулювання. Це дасть змогу визначити закономірності здійснення інженерно-технічних експертиз на місці ДТП в Україні та виокремити сучасні новітні можливості дослідження слідів ДТП у інших країнах світу.
