У статті досліджено теоретико-правові питання визначення цифрових валют як адміністративно-правового феномену. Визначено, що відносини у сфері обігу цифрових валют базуються на принципах диспозитивності та рівності сторін з імперативним методом правового регулювання. Запропоновано визначення «цифрової валюти» як призначеного для здійснення платіжних функцій цифрового об’єкта, що міститься у вигляді сукупності електронних даних (цифрового коду або позначення) в інформаційній мережі, яка функціонує на основі технології розподіленого реєстру, обіг якого регулюється нормами адміністративного права.
