Окреслено основні теоретичні проблеми сучасного мейнстріму економічної науки щодо ролі та функцій держави в економіці та державного регулювання економіки. Розкрито та статистично підтверджено ряд негативних тенденцій, процесів та явищ на національному та глобальному рівнях в епоху глобалізації, зумовлених ідеями неоліберальної концепції щодо ролі держави в економіці та глобалізації. Розкрито основні напрями нівелювання негативного впливу неолібералізму на соціально-економічний розвиток. Показано та оцінено основні сценарії подальшого розвитку пануючих поглядів на державне регулювання економіки. Визначено основні його виклики, зумовлені глобалізацією, та показано необхідні напрями його трансформації.
