У статті розглянуто особливості становлення та розвитку вітчизняної систем страхування банківських вкладів. Виділено Період зародження (1998-2012 рр.), що характеризується активним законодавчим регулюванням відносин у сфері страхування вкладів, проводиться напрацювання практичного досвіду і його систематизація, аналізуються допущені помилки, та Період стабілізації (2012 р. – дотепер), що характеризується комплексним оновленням законодавчого регулювання відносин у сфері страхування вкладів. До діючого правового поля вносяться точкові зміни з урахуванням кризових ситуацій, що виникають у фінансовій сфері України.
