The article is devoted to the problem of formation of production strategy of Ukrainian enterprises, the questions of definition of the concept of production strategy, the place of production strategy in strategic enterprise management are considered, the strategic purpose of production strategy is determined, the factors that influence the formation of production strategy are offered, the clas-sification of production strategies with the allocation of functional areas of enterprise activity , the process of developing production strategies of Ukrainian enterprises is proposed. The relevance of the chosen topic of the study is due to the need to improve the production efficiency of industrial enterprises in the long term, taking into account the needs of customers and the transition to marketing orientation, as it will allow them to compete in the domestic and foreign markets. In many ways, this problem can be solved by an effectively developed production strategy. The purpose of the work is to determine the process of development of the production strategy of Ukrainian enterprises. The main information base for the writing of the work were scientific works, materials of periodicals and Internet resources. In carrying out the research, methods of structural-logistical and system analysis are used. Currently, the production strategy is not given sufficient attention in the strategic management of the enterprise. It is necessary to have a specific production philosophy that is clearly thought out and supports its production strategy. Many factors influence the formation of a company's strategy. The interaction of these factors is specific to each industry and company and always changes over time. In today's world, manufacturing does not have to wait until it is clear what the strategy of the corporation is. It should play a key role in influencing this strategy.
