The purpose of the paper is to formulate recommendations for improving methodological aspects to improve the formation of an innovation strategy of freight road transport enterprises of Ukraine. Results. The presented and substantiated components of the complex of methodological support for the development of an innovation strategy of freight road transport enterprises of Ukraine are determined in accordance with the characteristics and typical problems of the latter in the conditions of modern challenges and threats. The presented methodological approach involves a change in the construction of the structure of the innovation project by implementing a pilot stage, at which the company will be able to verify with minimal risks the effectiveness, demand for a new innovative offer. This will create a segment of consumers who will have positive expectations regarding the implementation of a large-scale project of an innovative technological solution, and will allow the company of this sector to be convinced of the possibility of implementing the latter. Also, in the event of unforeseen technical, technological, personnel, economic problems at the pilot project stage, they can be eliminated and a general project can be created without possible errors or problems. Three methodological directions for developing innovative strategies for Ukrainian freight transport enterprises were characterized and substantiated using the example of a leading company in the industry (PrJSC "DHL International Ukraine"). The organizational, financial and personnel components of the innovative strategy of enterprises in the industry were determined. Conclusions. The presented methodological justification for the formation of innovative strategies for Ukrainian freight transport enterprises can be adapted to the operating conditions of most companies in the specified industry if they maintain a focus on the growth of innovative development.
