Introduction. In the context of globalization and the development of international trade, joining countries to international transit systems becomes a strategically important issue. Ukraine, which is located at the crossroads between Europe and Asia, has the potential to become a key transport hub. However, despite this potential, there are numerous issues and challenges that prevent the full realization of business opportunities. The study of this topic will reveal key aspects affecting the efficiency of international transit through Ukraine, identify opportunities for enterprises of various industries, and suggest ways to overcome existing obstacles. The purpose of the paper is to identify the key aspects affecting the efficiency of international transit through Ukraine, to identify opportunities for enterprises of various industries, and to propose ways to overcome existing obstacles related to Ukraine's accession to the international transit system - NCTS. Results. NCTS carries complex advantages for Ukraine. This system makes it possible to establish an exchange of information on all stages of customs clearance of goods using electronic messages in real time and to increase the effectiveness of the use of the risk analysis mechanism. If we consider the broader context of NCTS, its implementation in Ukraine brings a number of significant advantages for business. The most important thing is that there is an opportunity to start taking steps to bring Ukrainian customs legislation closer to EU customs legislation and to revive the activity of Ukraine's business environment. Conclusion. The international application of NCTS becomes the main tool for the rapid passage of goods through customs, and with the accession to international customs conventions and the launch of relevant legislative changes, Ukraine will fulfill 81% of its obligations under the Association Agreement with the EU in the customs sphere. In general, the accession of Ukraine to the common transit system is considered as an important step towards future full membership in the EU.
