У статті розкрито взаємозв’язок між правовими та соціально-психологічними чинниками у питаннях реалізації права на приватність у демократичному суспільстві та поліцейській діяльності. Стверджено, що відчуття приватності є психологічно «чутливим» та необхідним для усвідомлення власної гідності. У реалізації функцій поліцейської діяльності права та свободи людини повинні визнаватися найвищими соціальними цінностями. Поліція забезпечує та гарантує їх дотримання, а обмеження має бути визначено лише законом, нагальною необхідністю і пропорційністю. З цією метою Україні необхідно імплементувати основні засади, визначені сукупністю правових норм, принципів та політичних цілей, що регулюють діяльність ЄС.
